The Interview with Warren Richards, the Founder of Cafe Caribbean is featured in The Times Digital.

Warren shares his experience with Eat Out To Help Out scheme in the article for The Times Digital. The famous scheme  offered 50 per cent discounts to encourage customers back to restaurants from Monday to Wednesday. 

“I got bombarded. It went mad,” said Warren Richards, owner of Café Caribbean in Loughton, Essex.

“People were ordering double of everything. Two starters each, two dinners. It was crazy. They were ordering food they couldn’t eat. Everyone was enjoying the food but the waste was a bit much. I didn’t want to turn anything away but it put us under a lot of pressure.”

Though grateful, Warren said in hindsight a lower discount throughout the week — “30 per cent instead of 50 per cent — might have steadied the stream of customers.
